Can Mia OS connect to the tools I already use?

One of the biggest worries when you consider new software: ‘Do I have to throw everything out?’ With Mia OS, the answer is no.

Mia OS is designed to work alongside what you already have. Instead of setting up an entirely new system, Mia builds an app that fits your existing way of working. You decide what you want to connect, and Mia works out how.

What are integrations and why are they useful?

An integration, sometimes called a connection, lets two systems talk to each other. Say you receive a completed form in your Mia app, and that information automatically appears in your email program or your accounts as well. No more retyping by hand.

This kind of automation saves time, prevents mistakes and brings everything together in one place. Mia OS makes it possible by connecting the app she builds to external services, through what are known as APIs: the standard way software systems communicate with each other.

You don't need to know how an API works. You describe what you want in plain language, and Mia builds the connection.

What kinds of tools can Mia OS connect to?

Mia OS can build integrations with a wide range of tools. For example:

• Email and calendar: new sign-ups or appointments that land in your calendar automatically
• Payment systems: customers can pay straight away through a well-known payment service, without you processing anything by hand
• Spreadsheets and databases: data that comes into your app is saved or synchronised automatically
• Accounting and invoicing software: orders that trigger an invoice straight away
• External email or SMS services: automatic confirmations to customers as soon as they fill something in or place an order
• Existing websites or online shops: Mia can build an additional tool that works with what you already have online

Whether a specific integration is possible depends on whether the other tool also offers an API. Most modern software does these days.

How do you ask Mia for an integration?

You don't need technical language. Just describe what you want to achieve:

*‘When someone signs up through the form, I want to send an automatic confirmation email and save their details in my accounting system.’*

Mia OS turns this into a working solution. Sometimes she asks clarifying questions, such as which accounting system you use, but the conversation stays in plain language.

Some integrations need an access key from the other service (known as an API key). Mia explains exactly where to find it and how to enter it. Set it up once, and from then on it works automatically.

What if an integration isn't directly possible?

Not every tool has an open API, and not every connection can be made in one step. In that case, there are alternatives:

• Mia can work through intermediary services that link many popular apps together
• Sometimes Mia builds a workaround, such as an import function using a file format both systems understand
• And sometimes the honest answer is that a particular integration is out of reach for now; Mia OS is open about what is and isn't feasible

It is always best to mention early in the conversation which tools you already use. Then Mia can take them into account straight away when building your app.
