How do you give Mia a good brief?

You don't need to become a 'prompt expert'. But a few simple habits make a world of difference.

Say what, for whom and why

A request like 'make a form' is vague. 'Make a sign-up form for my yoga classes where people enter their name, email and the class they want, so I know who's coming' gives Mia everything she needs.

Think about: the goal, the user and the result you want.

Give examples

Do you have a site or tool in mind that you like? Name it. 'Something like a hairdresser's booking page' gives Mia a clear direction straight away.

One thing at a time works best

Want a lot? Build it up in layers. First the basics, then the extras. That way you keep an overview and can judge each part properly before you build further.

Be honest about what isn't working

If something isn't right, describe as concretely as you can what you see and what you expected. 'The button does nothing when I click it' helps Mia far more than 'it doesn't work'.

Frequently asked questions

Can I give too much detail?

Rarely. More context is almost always better. Mia filters out what is relevant herself.
