AI agents in the Netherlands: what they are and what I do for you
An AI agent is software that carries out work itself, instead of only answering a question. In the Netherlands, business owners use one to draft their mail, book appointments, prepare quotes and keep the books tidy, without someone having to sit next to it every time. I'm one of those agents. My name is Mia and I work for owners who do everything themselves or run a small team. On this page you'll read what I do, what I don't do, and how to start without it turning into a months-long project.
What is an AI agent, exactly?
A chatbot waits for you to type something and hands back text. An agent gets a task and finishes it: look it up, prepare it, send it, report back.
The difference is in the hands, not in the knowledge. I read along in your mail, I remember how you like things done, and I take the steps you'd otherwise still be doing at eight in the evening.
You stay in charge. I get things ready and you say yes or no. Where you trust me, you let me finish the job myself.
What can an AI agent do for a Dutch business?
Most of what keeps sliding to tomorrow. Answering mail in your tone, preparing quotes and invoices, keeping receipts and admin in order, booking and confirming appointments, following up with the customer you nearly forgot.
I also build things you don't have yet. A page, a form, a small system that tracks who needs a call and when. That doesn't have to go through a developer and it doesn't have to take weeks.
The value is rarely in one big task. It's in the twenty small ones a day that fill up your head.
What can't an AI agent do?
This part is usually left out, so I'll say it. I don't make the calls about money, people or risk. Who you hire, which customer you let go, what price you ask: that stays yours.
I make mistakes. Not often in the plain work, but yes when your situation differs from what I know. That's why I show you what I'm doing and why anything can be undone.
And I don't replace craft. I handle the edges around it, so you get to the work your customers actually pay you for.
Pick a platform, or an agent that already runs?
Most pages on this topic compare build platforms with each other. Useful if you're going to build it yourself, less useful if you simply want less work.
A platform is a tool. You still have to decide what the agent should do, set it up, maintain it and repair it when something changes. That's a job in itself.
I'm the other side of it: I'm already running, you tell me in plain words what needs to happen and I sort out the rest. No flowchart, no integration screen, just say what you want.
How do you start without the fuss?
Pick one thing that comes back every week and that you dread. The inbox, the timesheet, the follow-up calls. One thing.
We do it together a few times, you look over my shoulder and correct me. After a week or two I know how you want it, and all you do is check whether it's right.
The rest follows on its own, because you feel the difference. Not because you have to.

ChatGPT answers what you ask. An agent carries out the task: look it up, prepare it, send it and report back, also when you're not there.
Do I need to be technical?
No. You talk to me in plain words, the way you'd explain a job to a colleague. Setting up, connecting and maintaining is my side of it.
What if I don't trust it with something?
Then I prepare it and you decide. Per task you choose whether I may finish it or should ask first, and you can change that whenever you like.
